Tax Evasion
Tax evasion is a deliberate and illegal effort to avoid paying taxes. Usually tax evasion takes the form of an intentionally incorrect tax return that misrepresents information in the interest of reducing the overall tax liability. Tax evasion usually takes the form of concealing income or overstating deductions. Tax evaders are subject to punishment by the government, including prosecution and heavy penalties.
