What states do not levy a personal income tax?
Seven states have no income tax: Alaska, Florida, Nevada, South Dakota, Texas, Washington, and Wyoming. If you earn money in these states you do not need to file a state return.
Two other states, New Hampshire and Tennessee, only tax income from interest and dividends.
