Your SSN in the return must not be the same as the primary SSN on another tax return filed for the same tax year.
Fix #1: Sign into your PriorTax account and doublecheck that the names and social security numbers match exactly what is currently on file with the IRS and Social Security Administration databases. If not, you can update these fields from your rejection status page and resubmit for filing.
Fix #2: If the names and SSNs seem to be entered correctly, you may need to paperfile your tax return for this year and contact the Social Security Administration to update the information they have on file. Print, sign, and mail your return to the IRS by signing into your PriorTax account and downloading the pdf.
